In Bach Flower Therapy, as in homeopathy, ‘disease’ is understood to be merely the end product of a much deeper disharmony in the patient’s self. The mind being the most sensitive ‘part’ of the body, the disharmony that leads to disease, manifests itself most clearly in the mental outlook of the patient. Hence, in Bach Flower Therapy, the mental outlook of the patient alone is taken as the guide in selecting the remedies.
“This disharmony, disease, makes itself manifest in the body for the body merely serves to reflect the workings of the soul; just as the face reflects happiness by smiles, or temper by frowns. And so in bigger things; the body will reflect the true causes of disease (which are such as fear, indecision, doubt, etc.) in the disarrangement of its systems and tissues”
